影片讲述了被称为“尾张大傻瓜”的织田信长（木村拓哉 饰）和被称为“蝮蛇之女”的浓姬（绫濑遥 饰）夫妻之间的故事。描绘了经历了动荡年代的“男人和女人”30年间轨迹。该片也是木村拓哉和绫濑遥继TBS日9剧《南极大陆》合作以来，时隔11年的再度合作。
电影《传奇与蝴蝶》将于2023年1月27日在日本上映。
